Berube Led Blues to Their First Stanley Cup Title in 2019

Drew Bannister Named Interim Head Coach

The St. Louis Blues have fired head coach Craig Berube after three-plus seasons with the team. Berube was hired in June 2018 and led the Blues to their first Stanley Cup title in 2019. However, the team has struggled in recent months, and Berube was fired after the Blues lost 6-4 to the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night.

Berube's firing comes as a surprise to many, as he was considered one of the best coaches in the NHL. He was named the Jack Adams Award winner as the league's top coach in 2019 and has a career record of 150-118-32 with the Blues.

The Blues have named assistant coach Drew Bannister as their interim head coach. Bannister has been with the Blues for the past four seasons and has a reputation as a good communicator and tactician. He will be tasked with turning around the Blues' fortunes and getting them back into the playoff race.

The Blues are currently in last place in the Central Division with a record of 18-23-3. They will be back in action on Thursday night when they host the Nashville Predators.
