College football is back. Here's what you missed in Week 1

Week 1 of the college football season is in the books, and there were plenty of storylines to keep fans entertained. Here's a quick recap of some of the biggest games and storylines from the weekend:

No. 1 Clemson survives scare from Georgia Tech

The No. 1 Clemson Tigers survived a scare from Georgia Tech on Monday night, winning 41-10. The Tigers led 31-3 at halftime, but the Yellow Jackets scored 10 unanswered points in the third quarter to make it a one-score game.

Clemson's defense eventually tightened up, and the Tigers pulled away in the fourth quarter. Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Will Shipley rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Illinois upsets Nebraska in Scott Frost's final game

The Illinois Fighting Illini upset the Nebraska Cornhuskers 30-22 in Scott Frost's final game as head coach. The Illini took a 17-0 lead in the first half and never looked back.

Quarterback Tommy DeVito threw for 211 yards and a touchdown for Illinois, while running back Chase Brown rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown. The Illini defense also forced three turnovers, including two interceptions.

Jackson State survives late rally to beat Florida A&M

The Jackson State Tigers survived a late rally to beat the Florida A&M Rattlers 7-6 in Deion Sanders' first game as head coach. The Tigers led 7-0 at halftime, but the Rattlers scored a touchdown with just over two minutes remaining.

Jackson State's defense held on, however, and the Tigers escaped with a victory. Sanders, a former NFL star, is now 1-0 as a head coach.
